International Day of Medical Physics

To raise awareness of the profession, the International Organization for Medical Physics (IOMP) initiated the International Day of Medical Physics (IDMP) on the 7th of November. On that day in 1867, Marie Sklodowska-Curie was born in Poland. She is known for her pioneering research on radioactivity, which still contributes to the fight against cancer today.

In 2017 to celebrate the 150th birthday of Marie Sklodowska-Curie, the IPEM, a EUTERP Associate, asked women working in medical physics from around the world to send their photo to produce a poster marking this event. There was a fantastic response and the poster includes women from over 25 countries. The poster is available free to download. Other formats are available from the IPEM.

Please share the files, print the posters, send it to your networks and tweet about it!
