Sotiris Economides is a medical physicist with an MSc and a PhD in medical physics and an MSc in quality assurance.
Since 1999 he is working for the Greek Atomic Energy Commission (EEAE), initially (1999-2018) in the Department of Licensing and Inspections and currently in the Division of Research, Development and Education. His main responsibilities are related to Education and Training in the fields of radiation protection, nuclear safety and security. He is in charge of the EEAE’s quality management system applied to the design, development and evaluation of E&T activities.
He is participating on international committees and working groups (e.g. HERCA Task Force on E&T); member of the IAEA Steering Committee on Education and Training in Radiation Protection and Waste Safety and Course Director of the IAEA Post Graduate Educational Course on Radiation Protection and the Safety of Radiation Sources.
